Right at the end of an unusual afternoon walk with the big dog, I heard the haunting sounds of wind chimes. The sound interrupted my thoughts with the soothing pentatonic sounds of the mellow pipes.

I looked up at a house I’ve passed dozens of times, and for the first time noticed eleven wind chimes hanging from the eves. That’s right, eleven!
I see metal and wood. Large and small. Sharp and mellow. The sound is subtle, but it carries.
I love the sound of wind chimes. They are calming. They touch my soul. They are haunting and beautiful. They are soothing.
And all this from a rental. Who knew?
